Our Story
Beesclepious began with a simple observation: Greek flora produces some of the most distinctive honey in the world, and Greek tradition has used bee products as medicine for millennia.
The Asclepian lineage
Asclepius, son of Apollo, was the god of medicine. In the Asclepieia, his priests used honey and propolis to dress wounds. The serpent-entwined staff he carried remains the symbol of medicine today.
Our approach to beekeeping
We produce our own honey and work with nomadic beekeepers across Greece. The hives follow the seasons — thyme on the foothills of Mount Kithaironas, in Mani and on Crete in spring; fir and oak in mountainous Corinthia; pine in central Euboea in summer; and heather and arbutus in autumn.
